Tenuta Rapitalà is one of Sicily’s most reputable producers with 225 hectares of vineyards on the hills between Camporeale and Alcamo in the northwest corner of the island. The name comes from the Arabic word “Rabidh-Allah” – “Allah river”, which flows through the property and the land here has been cultivated since ancient times. The work on the farm takes place in harmony with nature and from the 2021 harvest, the wines will be organically certified.
Nero d’Avola is Sicily’s most cultivated grape variety and the basis of a large part of the island’s red wines. The grapes were harvested at the end of September and a small part of the wine was allowed to rest in oak barrels to give the wine greater harmony and complexity. Alto Reale is a structured but at the same time soft and harmonious wine with generous flavors of red berries, black currants, plums and raisins. Please serve it a little cooler, around 14-16°C, and match it with, for example, chicken, duck, turkey or mature cheeses.
