The Falanghina del Sannio comes from the Mastroberardino estate in the municipality of Apice in the Campania province of Benevento. It is the area called Sannio, in memory of the ancient Samnite population who inhabited it.
In the Sannio hills the native Falanghina vine has settled in and has taken on a characteristic physiognomy, different from that of the Falanghina on the coast. Falanghina is a very ancient vine and very versatile in winemaking.
The grapes are harvested by hand at the end of September and after pressing only the free-run must ferments in steel vats at a controlled temperature.
