The winery is located 300 kilometers south of Santiago de Chile in the heart of the Maule area. It has been owned by the Del Pedregal family for 7 generations and is one of the oldest in Chile. In 1978, Alberto del Pedregal brought Aldunate Carta Vieja to life, the first family brand. It has a long tradition that extends over 42 years. It still maintains itself as one of the leading wines of Viña del Pedregal. The vineyards cover a huge 550 hectares of vineyards in the Valle del Maule. The largest part of 80% consists of the red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Malbec, Merlot, Mission, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, the remaining 20% is planted with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines at Carta Vieja are produced in the Varietals, Reserva and (from the best grapes of each vintage) Gran Reserva lines. Eleven million bottles of wine are produced annually, the vast majority of which are exported worldwide. Fortunately, we can now also enjoy these wine masters.
Keeping a wine dream alive together with the associated company for more than 200 years is an achievement in itself. With time and dedication, it has become one of the oldest and most recognized vineyards in Chile. The best Chile has to offer.
